20th Annual Nickelsville Days Festival
June 21, 22 and 23, 2013
Nickelsville will be celebrating Nickelsville Day’s 20th anniversary June 21st through the 23rd, 2013. There’s something for everyone with live music entertainment Friday and Saturday evenings. The kids will enjoy the blowup rides, bungee jumping, ponies, a magic show, train rides and other fun activities. Everyone can compete in a corn hole tournament or enjoy a baseball game. If you’re hungry, food vendors will provide an array of food to satisfy your hunger pains. There will be a parade through downtown Nickelsville featuring local high school bands, antique cars, tractors, numerous floats, the Shriners club, local fire and rescue departments and much much more. Immediately following the parade, Meals of Love will be offering bingo games at Keith Memorial Park as a way to raise funds to feed those less fortunate in the Nickelsville area. Come visit Nickelsville and witness one of the largest parades in the County plus enjoy some entertainment for everyone.
There will be live musical entertainment Friday and Saturday evening. Friday begins with a youth choir from Richmond, followed by gospel singer Michael Wayne Smith and this years featured entertainer, Trey Hensley. Saturday evening will kick off with the Raisen Cain band and later that evening Daisi Rain. Tickets may be purchased for a 50/50 drawing, a grand prize and numerous other prizes donated by local merchants. Be sure to stay around after the shows for the fireworks at 10 PM Saturday evening.
The festival will conclude on Sunday afternoon with gospel music in the park and a community worship service. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy all the performances.
In the event of rain, Friday and Saturdays musical performances will be held in the auditorium of Twin Springs High School.
